Attractions
in the surrounding area
The attractions in Munich’s centre make the city a place of longing. Once you have experienced the historic magic of the Old town, you will never forget it. You can easily access all of the inner city on foot from the hotel. Stroll past Stachus square as you make your way to the pedestrian zone and take a look around the shops or explore Glockenbachviertel. You will also reach the Deutsches Museum and the English Garden in around 30 minutes on foot. You can take a tram or train from the main station to reach Nymphenburg Palace in just 25 minutes.
Nymphenburg Palace
Nymphenburg Palace is just a few kilometres to the west of Munich’s city centre. Together with the palace gardens and the parks, the former summer residence of the house of Wittelsbach is one of the city’s most popular tourist destinations.

Frauenkirche
The Frauenkirche or Church of Our Lady is located in the middle of the Old Town centre and is one of Munich’s landmarks. Marienplatz is a popular meeting point and visiting the Frauenkirche is a must for anyone on holiday in the city.
Theresienwiese
Near to the city centre is the open space known as Theresienwiese, the venue for Munich’s famous Oktoberfest. Many other cultural and sporting events take place during the rest of the year.

The expanses of the Upper Bavarian landscape extend just beyond Munich’s gates. Famous for its wonderful nature and filled with magical bathing lakes, the surrounding area is a popular destination for the city’s residents and their visitors. Fed by small mountain streams and close to the mountain sources, Bavaria’s lakes and rivers are especially clean and clear. This explains why sunbathing and swimming during the summer months is a typical leisure activity for the locals.
Lake Starnberg
The lake is only 30 km away from the hotel. Also known as the Würmsee or “Munich’s bath tub”, numerous visitors from Munich and the whole region flock to the lakes to walk along its banks.

Lake Ammer
Fed by the Ammer, the lake offers excellent water quality for bathers. With Utting Lido and wonderful recreational facilities such as standup paddleboarding or volleyball, the lake also has a sporting side.

Activities
around Munich
Anyone who likes to experience extraordinarily beautiful nature actively should set out on a hike, go for a cycle or play a round of golf. With good visibility, you can see the northern part of the Alps on the horizon over the Alpine foothills. Adventurous visitors can go rafting or canyoning in the rivers, ravines and rapids or try out paragliding. Others might prefer to stroll along the shore of the wonderful lakes, visit one of the many abbeys and churches in the area or visit quaint villages. Anyone who appreciates the rustic romance of Bavaria won’t be disappointed – guaranteed.
Walking
Walking around Unterhaching you will discover the Perlacher Forst, Hirschbrunnen and numerous other parks and special places. The Alps with their fantastic mountain ranges are only an hour away by car.
Cycling
The surrounding area can easily be discovered on two wheels. Start from outside the hotel and e-bike comfortably through the meadows and hills in the Alpine foothills. Garmisch, Lenggries and Samerberg are attractive to mountain bikers.
Golfing
The Greater Munich area has a wealth of golf clubs. There are also several large golf clubs in the south. There’s even an indoor golf course for training during the winter or rainy periods nearby in Ottobrunn.
English Garden
The parkland in the English Garden offers visitors plenty of opportunities for fun, sport and top-quality relaxation. Munich residents meet up in the beer garden to sunbathe or to cool off in the waters of the river Eisbach.
